ANSWER: 0 4 2
The code is 0 4 2
A. 6 8 2 – One Number is correct and well placed – Number cannot be 6 as that will make Statement B wrong so number in code is 2 which is correctly placed also(on Position 3)
B. 6 1 4 – One Number is correct but wrong place – 6 cannot be that number as per Statement A, It cannot be 1 also as if number is 1 it can be on either on 1st or 3rd place those are already taken by digits 0 and 2 so only number left is 4
C. 2 0 6 – Two Numbers are correct but Wrong Places – One of digit which is correct is 0 as per Statement E but its place cannot be at second(as per statement C) and third position( as per Statement E) so it can be only one first place, other digit is 2 as per statement A.
D. 7 3 8 – Nothing is correct – We can rule out these 3 digits from other statements
E. 8 7 0 – One Number is correct but wrong place – We know 0 is one of digit in code but place for it would be not 3
From statement A, B and E we got our numbers. Statement A gave position for Number 2 . Statement C and E gave position for other 2 numbers.
Statement A -> X X 2
Statement A, C and E-> 0 X 2
Statement B -> last digit 4 which will come in middle so code would be 0 4 2
Hence the code is 0 4 2

The explanation is more confusing than the puzzle
092 is correct answer
Please explain, not understanding
Hi Cvas, make a table as per conditions. It will make it easy to solve. Condition D provides you hint about 3 numbers which cannot be there in answer. Likewise try solving other conditions
Hint E in explanation is wrong according to puzzle given
Why is that? As per E, 1 number is correct and wrongly placed. Number cannot be 7 and 8 due to condition D so its number 0 which is correct but its position 3 is wrong. That is why in answer 0 comes on first position.
042 is correct if you assume the word “Only” added to clues 1,2 and 3. 062 is another answer if you assume “At Least” in front of those clues. As written the clues are not definitive.
Besides 042 there are other 3 possible codes as per conditions; 660, 602 and 062.
So i think the question doesn’t make any sense.
Prove me wrong
Because of condition 1 and 2, 6 cannot be the number. Though, its not mentioned but no number should be repeated else puzzle looses its logic.
Yes it’s quite difficult at first then thats brain training
It is quite difficult at first but that’s brain training. I really enjoy solving them. Pls post more such like brain training teasers Thanks
Bro see the first option only 1 no is correct so 062 is not possible
601 is correct answer….
6 and 1 cannot be together because at the Clue B, 614, it said ONE OF THOSE can be correct. 042 is the correct answer, got it on my first try.
Great puzzle but too easy for me . Make more challenging ones .
102 and 042 both are Ok
